Joanna attended the University of the West Indies where she graduated with a Bachelor of Laws Degree with First Class Honours and was awarded the Frank L Myers Scholarship, established by Myers, Fletcher & Gordon (MFG) to honour one of the founding partners of this law firm. She went on to obtain her Legal Education Certificate at the Norman Manley Law School and was called to the Jamaican Bar in December 2019. Before joining MFG she practiced commercial and property law with a senior and well respected member of the Jamaican Bar.
She joined the firm in July 2020 and is a member of the firm’s Commercial Department where her practice areas include Corporate Finance, Compliance, Banking, Corporate Acquisitions and General Company Law.
During the course of her legal studies Joanna was a member of the UWI Rights Advocacy Project (URAP), a regional organization established as a project of the Faculty of Law to promote human rights, equality and social justice.
Outside of her legal studies Joanna has pursued courses in corporate finance and accounting, insurance and has been a private tutor for students in grades 6 - 12 for over ten years. Joanna enjoys being active, watching movies and charitable endeavors.
