Rachel, having joined the MF&G family as an associate in the Property Department, is a member of the firm’s Litigation Department. She brings considerable executive-level experience, from both the private and public sectors, to the table. Rachel has successfully represented clients across the Jamaican judicial system and her practice areas include Banking & Finance, Mergers & Acquisitions, Tourism and Real Estate.
Rachel’s career in commerce began in the public sector with a focus on foreign direct investment facilitation, trade development and export promotion. She then moved into the private sector in Banking and Finance at one of the island’s largest institutions where she spearheaded a number of special projects in Jamaica and the Diaspora. Rachel then advanced to one of the largest conglomerates in the English speaking Caribbean where she headed corporate affairs for a number of entities including those in the resorts and automotive divisions.
Rachel’s education has been as diverse as her career starting with a Bachelor’s Degree in Statistics and Sociology from The University of Western Ontario in Canada, then a Master of Business Administration from Nova Southeastern University in Florida, USA. She went on to earn a Bachelor of Laws Degree from The City University, London, England and finally the Legal Education Certificate from the Council of Legal Education at the Norman Manley Law School here in Jamaica.
Rachel is a board member of the MCS Group of Companies and of the SOS Children’s Villages, Jamaica. She has also served on the board of the Technology Innovation Centre at The University of Technology Jamaica. She is passionate about tennis, and enjoys landscaping and reading.
