The Partners of Myers, Fletcher & Gordon are pleased to announce that STEPHEN M. SHELTON has been admitted to the inner Bar and now holds the rank of Queen’s Counsel.
Stephen Shelton, affectionately called Steve, is a renowned litigator who has honed expert skills in the areas of arbitration, mediation, construction and commercial disputes. He served as Managing Partner of our Jamaican and London offices at various times and significantly contributed to the growth and development of the firms over the years. He also served as head of the firm’s Litigation department for several years and is now the sitting Senior Partner of the Firm.
With over 36 years of legal experience, he is highly regarded by both his peers and the bench and is oftentimes described as a “lawyer’s lawyer”. Steve’s character is demonstrated by his strong belief in ethics, fairness, sound judgement and respect for all. The high quality and standard of his work is exemplified by his meticulous nature.
He is a Jamaica College old boy who still maintains strong bonds with his alma mater. He is a director of the boards of WIHCON, Kingston Legal Aid Clinic, MFG Trust & Finance and other private companies and charitable organizations.
Steve is married to Sharon, with two sons and is now a proud grandfather. He is an avid sportsman who enjoys bird shooting, fishing and a good game of cricket.
